Parts of the 71 Freeway within the Pomona space will shut this week for pavement work, in keeping with Caltrans.
The freeway underwent a number of closures earlier this yr for repairs of potholes.
The potholes, exacerbated by Southern California’s torrential rains, broken dozens of autos. Potholes in a single location close to Holt Avenue broken about 30 autos in March, leading to flat tires and bent rims.
This week’s closures will start and finish as follows:
- Northbound lanes between Chino Avenue and Rio Rancho Highway shall be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday till 4 a.m. Friday, and once more on Friday from 10 p.m till 6 a.m Saturday.
- The northbound onramp at Garey Avenue shall be closed from 7 p.m. Thursday till 6 a.m. Friday and from 7 p.m. Friday to three p.m. Saturday.
- The westbound 60 Freeway connector to the northbound 71 shall be closed from 7 p.m. Thursday to six a.m. Friday and seven p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday
Drivers whose automobiles have suffered injury due to the potholes can file a declare instantly with Caltrans for as much as $10,000.
However claims for damages above $10,000 have to be filed with the state’s Authorities Claims Program.
