Former President Donald Trump and greater than a dozen of his associates have been indicted on 41 counts by a grand jury in Georgia for election fraud, racketeering and different prices associated to alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
The indictment handed up by the Fulton County grand jury names Trump and 18 others, together with his former lawyer Rudy Giuliani, his former White Home chief of employees Mark Meadows, conservative lawyer John Eastman, former Justice Division official Jeffrey Clark and attorneys Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis.
The grand jury prices all 19 defendants with “the offense of violation of the Georgia RICO Act,” amongst different prices. In response to the indictment, Trump and the opposite defendants are charged with becoming a member of a conspiracy “to unlawfully change the end result of the election in favor of Trump,” after refusing “to simply accept that Trump misplaced” the 2020 presidential election.
“That conspiracy contained a standard plan and objective to commit two or extra acts of racketeering exercise in Fulton County, Georgia, elsewhere within the state of Georgia, and in different states,” the indictment states.
