The Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC) says it expects 5.4 million voters to vote within the three off-cycle governorship elections holding on 11 November in Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo States.
Of the determine, 1.05 million voters are in Bayelsa; 2.4 million are in Imo and two million are in Kogi.
Sam Olumekun, nationwide commissioner and chairman, of INEC’s Data and Voter Schooling Committee, said in Abuja that the fee reviewed its preparations for the elections within the three states on Tuesday.
He assured that digital copies of the entire register of voters for every state could be given to political events collaborating within the elections.
“Sixteen political events are sponsoring candidates in Bayelsa; 17 political events are doing the identical in Imo, whereas 18 events are fielding candidates in Kogi.
“State chairmen of political events or their representatives are invited to attend the presentation of the registers on October 12 at INEC’s workplaces in Lokoja, Owerri and Yenagoa at 10 a.m.,’’ he said.
He added that INEC had finalised preparations for mock accreditation of voters within the three states in furtherance of its dedication to deepen the deployment of expertise for voter accreditation and outcome administration.
The mock train, he defined, would test-run the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and add polling unit outcomes to the INEC Consequence Viewing Portal (IReV).
