An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Courtroom in Ibadan remanded 5 males on Monday for the alleged tried homicide of a farmer at Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
The defendants are Ademola Isiaka, 58; Alabi Rasak, 58; Ademola Aremu, 22; Muritala Habideen, 24; and Abisoye Taiwo, 55.
The Chief Justice of the Peace, Mrs O. O. Ogunkanmi, didn’t take the pleas of the defendants however ordered their remand on the Abolongo custodial facility in Oyo City, pending the recommendation of the Oyo State Director of Public Prosecutions.
Ogunkanmi adjourned the case till Feb. 5, 2024, for point out.
The police charged the defendants with two counts of conspiracy and tried homicide.
The prosecutor, Insp Sikiru Opaleye, instructed the courtroom that defendants conspired with others at giant to commit the tried homicide on Dec. 10.
Opaleye stated that the defendants, between 8.00 a.m. and 12. 30 p.m., at Ilajue space of Ogbomoso, tried to kill one Mr Musefiu Raimi, aged 40, by taking pictures him on the leg with a gun.
“The defendants mounted a street block whereas the complainant was getting back from farm on a motorbike.
“On sighting the street block, the complainant made an try to show again and flee, however was shot by the defendants on the leg,” he stated.
Opaleye stated the offences contravened Sections 320 and 324 of the Felony Code, Legal guidelines of Oyo State, 2000.
