Norway’s Höegh LNG has amicably settled long-standing disputes and pending arbitrations with the charterer of
PGN FSRU Lampung.
Indonesian LNG importer PT Perusahaan Fuel Negara (PGN) holds a 20-year constitution on the 170,000 cum FSRU, which has been working as a 2.7m tonne per 12 months LNG import facility on the southern tip of Indonesia’s Sumatra island since 2014.
In 2021, PGN raised issues relating to operational points on the vessels and began arbitration to terminate the constitution. On the time, Höegh LNG – which turned the FSRU’s proprietor after buying Höegh LNG Companions – claimed that the charterer’s place was with out authorized benefit. Shortly after, Höegh LNG adopted with a countersuit. Whatever the lawsuit and counter-lawsuit, the unit continued to function based on its constitution.
After a number of years of authorized battles, PGN and Höegh LNG agreed to “irrevocably settle all disputes, claims, and counterclaims between the events that gave rise to arbitration proceedings and agreed to terminate the arbitrations with instant impact.”
Additionally, the constitution contract for the PGN FSRU Lampung will stay in “full pressure and impact and every social gathering will cowl its personal prices in relation to the terminated arbitrations.”
