The police command in Yobe, say suspected Boko Haram insurgents have destroyed two 330 KVA energy transmission towers within the state, plunging residents of Borno and Yobe into darkness.
Dungus Abdulkarim, the spokesperson for the command, mentioned this when he spoke with the Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) in Damaturu on Saturday.
Mr Abdulkarim mentioned that the transmission towers provided electrical energy from Gombe to Yobe and Borno.
He mentioned that the attackers have been suspected to have used improvised explosive gadgets to explode the amenities within the early hours of Saturday.

“The transmission towers are situated in Kasaisa in Damaturu Native Authorities Space of the state and provide electrical energy from Gombe to Yobe and Borno.
“The destruction has plunged residents of the 2 states into darkness,” he mentioned.
NAN studies that the assault on the towers was the second in three months, as they have been destroyed in December, however have been repaired in January.
