The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has disclosed the id of the senior customs officer who handed away on Tuesday after collapsing throughout a session of the Public Accounts Committee of the Home of Representatives in Abuja.
Chief Superintendent of Customs, Abdullahi Maiwada, revealed that the deceased was Deputy Comptroller Etop Andrew Essien, who served within the Account Unit of the service as Deputy Comptroller in command of Income.
Maiwada defined that Essien was overseeing income reconciliation for the service when he tragically handed away whereas making a presentation earlier than the Nationwide Meeting Home Committee on Public Accounts.
Maiwada stated, “Throughout his presentation, roughly three minutes in, Deputy Comptroller Essien requested water and confirmed indicators of discomfort. Regardless of quick efforts to help him, he sadly handed away.
“Deputy Comptroller Essien was born on the sixteenth of November 1967 and joined the Nigeria Customs Service on the twenty seventh of November 1989 with over three a long time of service to our nation. Hailing from Nsit-Ubium in Akwa Ibom State, he was recognized for his diligence and distinctive service report within the Accounts Unit. His function because the DC Income was pivotal in guaranteeing the correct reconciliation of income, which he carried out with utmost precision and dedication.”
