A Spirit Airways aircraft that landed at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Worldwide Airport from Tampa, Florida, on Sunday morning briefly caught hearth on the runway after its touchdown gear brakes overheated.
Atlanta Hearth Rescue put out the fireplace after the brakes within the touchdown gear ignited at 9:25 a.m., the airport stated in a statement to ABC Information. There have been no reported accidents.
“Spirit Flight 383 from Tampa to Atlanta landed safely in Atlanta Worldwide Airport and upon touchdown one of many brakes overheated,” Spirit stated in a press release on Sunday.
