The Nationwide League East-leading New York Mets have added an influence bat so as to add to their lineup.
In accordance with MLB Community’s Jon Heyman, the Mets have acquired 1B/DH Daniel Vogelbach in alternate for right-handed reliever Colin Holderman.
Heyman added that regardless of the acquisition of Vogelbach, the Mets are “nonetheless open” to including extra offense forward of the August 2 deadline.
Earlier this week, Michael Mayer of Metsmerized reported that the Mets and Pirates had been in discussions surrounding a deal for Vogelbach.
Vogelbach has batted .228/.338/.430 with 12 dwelling runs and 34 RBI in 75 video games for the Pirates this season.
The 29-year-old ended the primary half of the season on a little bit of a chilly streak. Over Vogelbach’s final 9 video games, he is batting .115/.343/.231 with a house run, six RBI and 9 walks.
Holderman heads to Pittsburgh within the deal. Initially a ninth-round choose by the Mets in 2016, Holderman made his main league debut this season. In 15 appearances, Holderman posted a 4-0 document with a 2.04 ERA in 17.2 innings.
