The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Seme Space Command, says it has seized 75,000 litres of petrol, inside bushes alongside Seme and Badagry, in Lagos.
Comptroller Bello Jibo, Customs Space Controller, stated this in an announcement by Mr Hussein Abdulahi, the command’s spokesman, on Thursday in Seme, Lagos.
In line with Jibo, the seized containers of petrol had been hid inside sacks and Jerry cans.
He added that the petrol seized had a Responsibility Paid Worth (DPV) of N19,785,000 solely.
“That is in continuation of our efforts to suppress the smuggling of petroleum merchandise inside the nooks and crannies of the command.
“The officers and males of the Seme Space Command, on a routine patrol alongside the bushes inside Seme and Badagry, intercepted one other giant amount of petroleum merchandise packaged in sacks and jerry cans.
“The arrest was made within the early hours of as we speak, Sept. 22.
“The seized petroleum merchandise had been estimated to be round 2,500 jerry cans of 30 litres every, equal to 75,000 litres.
“The DPV is N19,785,000 solely,” he stated.
He famous that the feat was achieved on account of credible intelligence acquired by the command, on the actions of smugglers.
Jibo warned perpetrators of those unlawful actions to remain off the Seme border routes or proceed to depend heavy losses, as his males had been decided to flush them out of the realm.
The controller recalled that three weeks in the past, the command made an analogous arrest of over 119,000 litres of petroleum merchandise.
