Actor and activist Sacheen Littlefeather, who famously declined a 1973 Oscar on behalf of actor Marlon Brando, has died on the age of 75, the Academy of Movement Image Arts and Sciences stated.
The Academy confirmed her loss of life on Twitter on Sunday evening (native time).
Littlefeather, an Apache and Yaqui girl, took to the stage on the Academy Awards nearly 50 years in the past to say no Brando’s Greatest Actor award for his position in The Godfather at his request.
In a conventional buckskin gown, she delivered a passionate speech in regards to the movie business’s mistreatment of Native Individuals.
