The Modibbo Adama College (MAU), Yola, has conferred an honorary doctorate diploma to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’advert, and three others.
The three others are Alhaji Muhammad Indimi, a philanthropist; former Gov. Boni Haruna of Adamawa, and Alhaji Dahiru Bobbo, a technocrat.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Tukur, made the disclosure on the college’s twenty seventh convocation ceremony on Saturday.
In line with Tukur, the awardees are notable Nigerians that any college can be proud to have.
Tukur congratulated the graduands and lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for assenting to the invoice for the conversion of the college from a specialised establishment to a traditional one, in 2021.
“I’m excited to report back to this gathering that the standard standing of the College has opened new avenues for the establishment, the state and the area,” he stated.
He stated that the college had recorded milestones, together with having a school of legislation and restoration of some programmes hitherto denied accreditation, in addition to conversion of the Federal Medical Hospital, Yola, to its educating hospital.
In his remarks, the Sultan of Sokoto thanked the college for contributions to the event of training within the nation.He congratulated the graduands and charged them to exhibit good character.
In line with him, data with out good character will not be useful. In his handle, Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa congratulated MAU for the convocation.
He additionally congratulated the graduands and praised the awardees for his or her recognition by the college because of their contributions to humanity.
