The Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee has arrested a former Speaker of the Nigerian Home of Representatives, Patricia Etteh.
Etteh is being grilled by EFCC’s particular duties unit for her alleged involvement in a solar energy electrification rip-off in Akwa Ibom State value N240 million.
The previous speaker was mentioned to have obtained N130m by her private account.
The contract was awarded by the Niger Delta Growth Fee (NDDC).
Etteh, the one girl to have been elected into the place, was elected Speaker in 2007 however resigned solely after a couple of months amid allegations of monetary misappropriation.
The EFCC on Monday arrested the Accountant-Common of the Federation (AGF), Ahmed Idris, over an N80 billion fraud.
