The Elections Petition Tribunal for Nationwide and State Home of Meeting sitting in Kano has nullified the election of the member representing Tarauni Federal Constituency, Mukhtar Yarima.
The election of Mr Yerima, a member of the New Nigeria Folks’s Get together, (NNPP) was annulled over certificates forgery.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Hafizu Kawu, challenged the election of Mr Yerima, on the tribunal for allegedly forging his major college certificates.
On Thursday, a three-member panel of the tribunal led by I.P Chima, in a two-hour judgment, dominated that the first college certificates, tendered by Mr Yerima to Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC) was solid.
The tribunal held that Hausawa Main College, which Mr Yarima claimed to have attended had disown the certificates and the lawmaker by no means attended the college.
The tribunal declared all of the votes scored by Mr Yarima beneath NNPP throughout the election as a waste and consequently returned and declared the petitioner, Mr Kawu of the APC winner for being the second runner-up within the election.

Responding to the judgement, a lawyer representing the APC, Nureini Jimoh, a Senior Advocate of Niger (SAN), welcomed the event whereas commending the judgement.
