Hours after her father was sacked as Wazirin Bauchi, the commissioner for Cooperatives and SMEs growth in Bauchi State, Sa’adatu Kirfi has introduced her resignation from the state’s govt council.
Her father, Bello Kirfi, is among the most influential politicians within the state. He was a Minister of State for International Affairs within the Shehu Shagari administration. Mr Kirfi was sacked by the Bauchi Emirate Council for alleged disloyalty to the Governor of the state, Bala Mohammed.
In a letter to the governor, Ms Kirfi thanked him for giving her the chance to serve in his administration.
“Your Excellency, I want to humbly tender my resignation as a member of Bauchi State Govt Council and Hon Commissioner Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Improvement, Bauchi State with speedy impact.”
“I want to thank His Excellency the Govt Governor for giving me the chance to serve my state below your Administration,” the letter reads.
Additionally, the Senior Particular Assistant to the Governor on Native Authorities Affairs, Haruna Guyaba, resigned from his appointment Wednesday afternoon.
“It’s with immense gratitude to the need of Allah (SWT) and deep appreciation to His Excellency Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (Kauran Bauchi) that I want to tender my resignation as Senior Particular Assistant (SSA) on native authorities affairs with impact from Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
