In case you don’t have already got David Friedman’s “Concepts” in your RSS feed, I like to recommend it. He posts sometimes, however the likelihood that I study one thing from every submit exceeds 0.9.
One excellent living proof is his most up-to-date submit, “Particular Pleading and How you can Acknowledge It.” He discusses 3 examples. First is an argument from Lockean rules for earnings and/or wealth redistribution. He reveals that if we take the argument severely, we don’t get the place those that use the precept need to get to. On this he cites thinker Matt Zwolinski’s argument for welfare.
The second is an argument for reparations for slavery. He reveals that if we take that argument severely, we should always take wealth from poor Africans and provides it to wealthy Individuals. On this he concludes, “Not the conclusion that folks making the argument wished.”
The third is on Wal-Mart and concrete sprawl.
All are value studying and pondering.
