Edo Reps member loses bid to return to Nationwide Meeting

The Home of Representatives member in Edo State, Johnson Oghuma, has failed in his bid to return to the Nationwide Meeting for a fourth time period.

He represents the Etsako Federal Constituency.

Oghuma was crushed to a fifth place on the All Progressives Congress (APC) main held on Friday at Auchi, Etsako West Native Authorities Space of Edo State.

Dekeri Anamero emerged because the winner, having polled 66 votes out of the 160 votes forged.

Asserting the consequence, the Returning Officer, Festus Ebea, stated 9 aspirants took half within the main.

Mr Ebea stated Mr Anamero polled 66 votes, adopted by Richard Lamai with 51 votes, Mohammed Bawa, 19 votes and Abubakar Momoh, 14 votes.

He stated Mr Oghuma polled seven votes, Bonald Bohi, two votes, Godwin Eshieshi, one vote, whereas Aremiyau Momoh and Roland Igbadumhe each obtained zero vote.

Mr Ebea thanked delegates for conducting themselves in an orderly method on the main and urged the get together members to assist the winner.

In his acceptance comment, Mr Anamero expressed appreciation to the delegates, leaders and get together members for locating him worthy to fly the get together’s flag within the election.

“I have to thank the APC for giving me the platform to fly the ticket come 2023 and I cannot take it as a right and by the particular grace of God, we will win and we will win massive,” Mr Anamero stated.

Mr Bawa who positioned third within the main accepted the consequence. He stated the election was free and truthful.
