The Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee has disclosed that officers of the Nigerian Air Drive arrested by its brokers in Kaduna are culpable of safety breach.
The EFCC famous that the NAF officers have been arrested over an try and rescue suspected fraudsters arrested by the company.
The spokesperson for the anti-graft company, Dele Oyewale, revealed the event in an announcement on Friday.
Oyewale mentioned, “Operatives of the Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC, on Monday, November 13, 2023, arrested 5 suspects at a residential Inn and Disney Rooster Eatery, Barnawa, Kaduna following credible intelligence about their alleged internet-related fraud actions.
“The suspected fraudsters: Favour Itung, Rachael Ande, Zuleiman Haruna, Abubakar Ismaila and Solomon Olobatoke have been arrested with out incident.
“Nevertheless, after the sting operation, six navy personnel who witnessed the operation at Disney Rooster Eatery stormed the Kaduna Command and tried to forcibly launch the arrested fraud suspects. They have been subdued and detained over the safety breach.
“The intruders are 4 Air Drive personnel: Lawal Abdullahi, Chukwuma Christian, Alfa Suleiman and Emmanuel Ekwozor, and two college students of Nigerian Air Drive Institute of Expertise: Chidera Anuba and Joseph Tokula. Whereas in detention, there have been inter-agency communication and discussions by the management of the EFCC and the Nigerian Air Drive to resolve the problems.
“Sadly, dialogue on the discharge of the combative Air Drive personnel broke down on Friday, November 17, 2023, when some unruly NAF Officers stormed the Kaduna Command in a commando- fashion, to forcefully launch their detained colleagues.
