The Police Command in Lagos State has ordered the restriction of all types of human and vehicular motion from 12:00 a.m. to six:00 p.m on Saturday.
That is contained in a press release issued by the command’s Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin on Friday.
He stated, “In step with the safety structure emplaced for the 2023 Basic Elections, human and vehicular actions might be restricted on Saturday, Feb. 25 between 0000hrs and 1800hrs throughout all roads, waterways and airways in Lagos State.
“Apart from important obligation autos comparable to ambulances, hearth vehicles, patrol autos of Federal Authorities safety companies.q
“Exempted from the motion restriction are important employees, INEC officers and election observers.
“The usage of sirens at or round polling models and collation centres is completely banned,” Hundeyin stated.
He stated that safety aides of private and non-private people, who’ve already been scaled down in accordance with the Electoral Act 2022, are usually not allowed to escort their principals to polling models and collation facilities armed.
In accordance with him, according to the Electoral Act 2022, no state-owned safety company is a part of election safety.
Hundeyin stated that violators could be apprehended and prosecuted.
