The Federal Authorities has accepted the cost of N25,000 of strange allowance for medical and dental medical doctors in hospitals, medical centres, and clinics within the federal public service.
This was disclosed in a letter dated July 26, 2023, titled, “Accoutrement allowance for medical and dental medical doctors in hospitals, medical centres, and clinics in federal MDAs.”
The letter was signed by the Chairman and Chief Government Officer of the fee, Ekpo Nta.
The letter learn, “The Federal Authorities has accepted the cost of an Accoutrement allowance of twenty-five naira (N25,000.00) per quarter to Medical and Dental Medical doctors in hospitals, medical centres, and clinics within the Federal Public Service. The allowance is to be paid from the overhead price range.
“The approval takes impact from June 1, 2023. All enquires regarding this round needs to be directed to the Fee.”
The PUNCH gathered that the discharge of the round concerning the allowance might not be unconnected to the continued indefinite strike launched into by members of the Nigerian Affiliation of Resident Medical doctors.
In the meantime, the President of NARD, Dr Emeka Oji, in a current interview with The PUNCH, stated medical doctors have been demanding about 500 per cent wage improve from the federal government.
