Hulu is about to premiere Mastermind, a documentary sequence a few member of the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit who revolutionized the way in which regulation enforcement investigates serial killers.
Mastermind is a four-parter on Dr. Ann Burgess, the architect of the FBI’s “mindhunter” methodology that was made well-known by the fictionalized Wendy Carr character within the 2017 Netflix restricted sequence. It’s from Ross Dinerstein’s Campfire Studios (Hulu’s WeWork: Or the Making and Breaking of a $47 Billion Unicorn), together with Govt Producers Lesley Chilcott and Rebecca Halpern (Helter Skelter: An American Fantasy), Govt Producers Dakota and Elle Fanning, and director Abby Fuller (Chef’s Desk, Pricey…).
A date for the docuseries is forthcoming.
Burgess spent her profession interviewing and finding out convicted serial killers, gleaning perception to use to unsolved instances. Primarily based partly on Dr. Burgess’ 2021 guide “A Killer by Design: Murders, Mindhunters, and My Quest to Decipher Felony Minds” and with unique entry to her private data, the docuseries delves into her most defining instances and sheds mild on the often-forgotten anti-rape motion, which laid the inspiration for #MeToo.
Mastermind is produced for Hulu by Campfire Studios in affiliation with Lewellen Photos. Govt producers are Ross M. Dinerstein, Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning, Rebecca Halpern, Lesley Chilcott, Rebecca Evans and Abby Fuller. Co-Govt Producers are Dani Sloane, Ross Girard, and Mark McCune. Dr. Ann Burgess is a consulting producer.
Different forthcoming docs on Hulu together with “Freaknik: The Wildest Social gathering By no means Informed,” “Queenmaker: The Making of an It Woman,” “Aaron Carter: The Little Prince of Pop” and “The Jewel Thief.”
