Wildlife crews have efficiently freed a 12-metre humpback whale discovered entangled in fishing line close to Perth after a rescue mission spanning two days.
The distressed whale was first reported to Parks and Wildlife on Wednesday when it was noticed close to Fremantle.
DBCA Swan Coastal Appearing District Supervisor Melissa Evans mentioned untangling the whale was a sophisticated activity.

Crews tracked the animal in a single day because it moved in the direction of Rottnest island, then made a second try to free it at first mild.
