INEC has taken supply of its final consignment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines.
Mr Festus Okoye, INEC’s Nationwide Commissioner and Chairman, Data and Voter Training Committee, stated on Wednesday that INEC’s Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, Nationwide Commissioners and senior officers took supply of the machines on Tuesday in Abuja.
He stated officers of the Nigeria Customs Service, the Nigerian Aviation Dealing with Firm and airport safety officers had been readily available on the Nnamdi Azikiwe Worldwide Airport, Abuja to obtain the INEC group.
“To facilitate the sleek supply of the machines, the Fee created 4 airport hubs in Abuja, Kano, Lagos, and Port Harcourt.
“Over the past 4 months, a number of flights delivered the BVAS to the designated airports for motion to states of the federation forward of the 2023 elections,’’ Okoye informed newsmen.
He stated with the arrival of the final consignment in Abuja on Tuesday, INEC had now taken supply of the required variety of BVAS machines for all polling items within the nation.
