A 20-year-old medic with the Underground Lightning Guerrilla Group died in a heavy artillery blast in Myanmar’s northern Sagaing area, the anti-junta militia stated in a press release.
Su Mon Htet was on a frontline mission to deal with comrades injured after they launched a mine assault on troops Sunday, the group stated.
“On the morning of Feb. 5, twelve junta troops — together with an informant — have been killed in mine assaults on a junta column,” the guerrilla group’s spokesman Bo Mone Daing instructed RFA.
“The junta column with greater than 40 troopers picked up the lifeless our bodies. The feminine medic Su Mon Htet was hit when the troops opened hearth with ammunition and heavy artillery … ammunition on our facet was restricted, so we couldn’t hearth again.”
Su Mon Htet died on the spot, the spokesman stated. She was cremated and her stays buried in Sadaung township on Sunday night.
As many as six members of the Underground Lightning Guerrilla Group, preventing alongside the Ohn Taw Dragon GZ militia, have been killed in accordance with Bo Mone Daing.
