Junta troops arrested 45 locals in a raid on a village in Monywa township in Myanmar’s Sagaing area.
A army convoy with round 100 troopers entered Nyaung Pin Thar village on Monday night, taking prisoners for interrogation, a resident – who wished to stay anonymous for security areas – advised RFA.
“About 45 folks had been arrested in Nyaung Pin Thar village,” the native advised RFA. “Telephones and all the pieces else had been confiscated. They took issues and homes had been searched. I don’t know whether or not the 45 have been launched or not.”
The native mentioned the troops spent the evening at Nyaung Pin Thar and went on to raid Na Gar Twin village on Tuesday morning. Residents of Na Gar Twin fled the raids however the native mentioned he didn’t know what present situations had been like within the village.
RFA contacted Aye Hlaing, social affairs minister and spokesman for the Sagaing regional authorities to hunt his feedback. He advised our reporter to contact the area’s Ministry of Safety and Border Affairs as a result of it was a safety subject.
On Oct. 4 and 5 junta troops raided two different villages in Monywa township — Mon Yway and Kyay Mon – arresting greater than 100 folks. Most had been launched when the troops left the village however locals mentioned they took round 10 folks with them.
