Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, disclosed the state is ready to disburse N3.1bn to about 1,000 retirees who’ve served the state tirelessly below the Contributory Pension Scheme.
The governor made this recognized through his X deal with, including that the sacrifices of the retirees “haven’t gone unnoticed.”
He wrote, “I’m completely satisfied to share some information with you that I hope will put smiles on the faces of households.
“Subsequent week, we’re set to disburse N3.1bn below the Contributory Pension Scheme to over 1,000 retirees who’ve served our state tirelessly.
“It’s pertinent to pay attention to the truth that within the lifetime of our administration, we’ve disbursed over N60 billion as pension to over 17,000 retirees. This achievement fills us with delight.”
Whereas thanking the retirees for his or her unwavering dedication, Sanwo-olu famous that their contributions kind the very basis of the colourful state.

The Lagos State Authorities had in August 2023 paid N2.017bn as retirement advantages to 644 retirees.
