Lagos college shuts workers faculty over demise of pupil

The administration of the Lagos State College of Science and Expertise (LASUSTECH) has introduced the indefinite closure of its workers school- LASUSTECH Worldwide Secondary College (LISS), over the demise of a pupil who was concerned in a motor accident.

This comes days after the establishment confirmed the demise of the scholar, recognized as AbdulRahman Dauda, who was allegedly chased to his demise by an unnamed class instructor not too long ago within the Ikorodu space of Lagos State.

A press release despatched to PREMIUM TIMES Friday evening by the college’s administration, famous that “the varsity has been closed forthwith because of the unlucky incident”.

It famous that the “interval of closure will likely be used to restructure and reposition the varsity”, whereas “college students will likely be engaged with on-line studying”.

Investigation

Following a viral video of a girl who recognized herself as AbdulRahman’s mom as she staged a lone protest to demand justice for her son, the college’s Public Relations Officer, Lanre Kunye, confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES Sunday that “the matter is already in courtroom”.

Additionally, an official assertion from the LASUSTECH Worldwide College stated the varsity and Nigerian Police have commenced investigations.

The college additional disclosed that three of its workers who have been allegedly accused of complicity within the matter have been remanded on the Nigerian Correctional facility in Lagos.

The assertion reads partly: “The Worldwide Workers College of the Lagos State College of Science and Expertise needs to commiserate with the household of Abdurahman Dauda, certainly one of our pupils who was concerned in an unlucky incident that led to his premature demise.

“We wish to state that the varsity and Nigerian Police commenced investigations instantly after the matter was reported. Subsequently, the case was taken to the courtroom of competent jurisdiction, and appearances began on Monday, 31 October 2022.
