A person pretending to be the son of Conservative MP Lee Anderson appeared on an LBC radio call-in claiming his father was a violent drunk.
The alleged prank name, which passed off on Rachel Johnson’s phone-in present on Sunday (17 December), has been described as a “vile hoax” by the Tory deputy chairman.
The person referred to as himself ‘Charlie Anderson’ from Ashfield, Mr Anderson’s constituency, and claimed to be the MP’s son.
The decision was promptly reduce off by Ms Johnson, who stated it appeared like a “very private difficulty”.
Mr Anderson has since demanded each police and LBC bosses look into what occurred.
Taking to X, previously Twitter, Mr Anderson stated: “To be clear, this can be a vile hoax and a slur on my household.
“For readability I do have a son referred to as Charlie however he’s 33 not 23 because the male says on this clip. The voice is a very completely different accent to my son’s.
“The one who has made this hoax name is sick. I shall be reporting this to the police and so ought to @LBC.”
