Japan’s Mitsui OSK Strains (MOL) has ordered one other offshore wind farm vessel by way of its Taiwanese three way partnership with Ta Tong Marine.
Ta San Shang Marine (TSSM) has returned to Dutch shipbuilder Damen Shipyards for a service operation vessel (SOV) newbuilding slated for supply on the finish of 2026. No worth has been revealed.
The 87.7-m-long vessel can be in-built Vietnam. It’s designed to be methanol-ready and can serve offshore wind farms in Taiwan, that are set for buildout and operation within the late 2020s.
That is the three way partnership’s third newbuild SOV, following the TSS Pioneer delivered in 2022, and the TSS Cruiser, which was ordered final November and is scheduled for supply on the finish of 2025.
