Ten folks, together with 5 authorities officers, have been arrested for taking bribe on behalf of non-profits for allegedly facilitating violations of guidelines in receiving overseas donations, sources within the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) stated Monday after an enormous nationwide crackdown throughout 40 places.
The Dwelling Ministry officers, say CBI sources, gave unlawful International Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) clearances to Non-Governmental Organisation or NGOs in change of bribe.
The sources added that public officers from the Dwelling Ministry, NGO representatives and intermediary had been caught red-handed receiving bribe for securing overseas funding clearances.
Unlawful transactions of round Rs 2 crore routed by means of hawala channels have been discovered, stated the company after searches in Delhi, Rajasthan, Chennai, Mysore, amongst others.
The CBI performed the raids after it was tipped off by the Dwelling Ministry.
