The Nationwide Emergency Administration Company (NEMA) has handed over 37,000 luggage of varied meals commodities procured by the federal authorities to the Borno Authorities.
The Director-Basic of NEMA, Malam Zubaida Umar, represented by the Borno NEMA Zonal officer, Muhammad Aji, handed over the gadgets to the state authorities in Maiduguri on Monday.
Umar mentioned that President Bola Tinubu authorized the discharge of 42,000 MT of varied meals for distribution to susceptible households, teams, and associations as a way to cushion the present socio-economic hardship within the state.
She added that, as a strategic reserve below the custody of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Meals Safety (FMoA&FS), the numerous meals commodities embody maize, millet, sorghum, and garri.
She added that Borno state has been allotted 594 metric tonnes of Maize, 252 metric tonnes of Millet and 9,972 metric tonnes of sorghum (luggage of 50kg).
Responding, Gov. Babagana Zulum, counseled the federal authorities for the gesture and promised to distribute the commodities given to the state judiciously.
