A brand new collectable coin celebrating The Snowman has been launched by the Royal Mint.
It’s the first of the Mint’s collectable 50p cash celebrating the World of the Snowman to characteristic the official coinage portrait of King Charles.
The coin is the sixth to be added to the Mint’s Christmas coin sequence celebrating Raymond Briggs’s story of a younger boy and his snowman.
Revealed by Puffin, The Snowman has bought greater than 5.5 million copies around the globe.
The 2023 design tells the magical story of James, who builds a snowman that involves life.
The design group on the Royal Mint mixed conventional craftsmanship with revolutionary digital color printing expertise to deliver the design to life.
Rebecca Morgan, director of collector providers on the Royal Mint, stated: “Persevering with our partnership with award-winning illustrator Robin Shaw, we’re excited to launch one other unique festive coin that brings Raymond Briggs’s story to life in a brand new means.
“This 12 months’s version of The Snowman coin is especially particular, being the primary of our Christmas cash with King Charles III’s effigy on its obverse. We hope that individuals love the coin’s design and look to gather a bit of British Christmas historical past.”
Costs for the coin vary from £11 for a superb uncirculated coin and £20 for a color model to £1,220 for a gold proof coin.
