The Lagos State command of the Nigeria Police Pressure has introduced the arrest of fifty prison suspects within the Ikorodu space of the state because it continues to implement the ban on industrial bikes.
SaharaReporters had reported that the Lagos authorities restricted industrial bikes popularly often known as “okada” from working on highways and in six native authorities areas.
The affected council areas are; Apapa, Eti Osa, Ikeja, Lagos Island, Surulere, and Lagos Mainland.
Briefing journalists on Saturday, the command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed that the operatives of the command who have been performing their lawful duties have been attacked in Ikorodu, on Friday night time.
Hundeyin mentioned the operatives have been fought by hoodlums and riders who tried to cease them from finishing up raid within the space after receiving stories about motorcyclists operates at night time.
“We reviewed our technique and stormed Ikorodu final night time (current ban on all highways).
“The riders and hoodlums attacked the police. We activated our standby backup. 50 arrested, 14 bikes impounded,” he mentioned.
The command’s spokesman mentioned that the seized bikes can be crushed as the subsequent motion.
