The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Commerce Union Congress (TUC) have collectively declared a nationwide strike scheduled to begin on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
The management of each unions arrived at a decision following a rare Nationwide Govt Council assembly in Abuja, which passed off on a Tuesday.
The nationwide mobilization of their members and supporters has been launched, in accordance with the unions.
The motion by the Organised Labour adopted the brutalisation of NLC Nationwide President, Joe Ajaero, final week in Imo State.
Ajaero’s current assault in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, has sparked widespread outrage, with organized labour accusing the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Barde, of complicity.
