The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Commerce Union Congress (TUC) in Imo State have suspended their indefinite strike within the state.
The nationwide management of the NLC and TUC had, on 1 Might, declared an indefinite strike over assault by suspected political thugs on their members and disruption of their 2023 Might Day celebration within the state.

The representatives of the unions who signed the MoU included Onyeka Chris (NLC headquarters), the State Secretary of the NLC, Nduka Anukwuorji, Tony Ebaho (TUC headquarters), and the State Chairperson of the TUC, Charles Amalu.
The Secretary to the State Authorities, Cosmos Iwu and the State Commissioner for Justice, Cyprian Akaolisa have been the representatives of the state authorities.
The NLC Nationwide Common-Secretary, Emmanuel Ugboaja, advised PREMIUM TIMES, Tuesday morning that the nationwide management of the labour unions drafted the representatives to interface with the federal government and signal the agreements.
Resolutions within the MoU
Within the MoU, the events resolved to arrange a committee to “expeditiously” look into the areas of disagreement between them and resolve the identical.
The events condemned the circumstances that led to the alleged disruption of the NLC Might Day Celebrations and pledged to make sure peaceable conduct of all actions of the NLC and TUC within the state.
