Police operatives have arrested a 39-year-old suspected faux Military Captain, Andy Edwards, in Lagos for alleged armed theft.
Police spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest on Sunday in an announcement.
Hundeyin acknowledged that the faux soldier, who posed as a modelling agent, would invite women for auditioning and rob them of their vehicles and valuables at gunpoint.
He mentioned the suspect was arrested following a painstaking investigation that was launched after one among his victims reported the theft of her Lexus RX330 SUV.
“Investigation led to the restoration of 1 Ford Edge SUV with registration quantity KRD 276 EG, one stitching machine and one POS machine with six SIM playing cards from the suspect’s home.
“Additionally recovered from him had been two pairs of navy camouflage uniforms and one quantity plate – AFL 469 GD.
“Whereas investigation is being rounded off, the proprietor of the Ford SUV is hereby urged to return ahead to say identical. Suspect can be arraigned on the conclusion of investigation,’’ Hundeyin acknowledged.
The spokesman assured folks of Lagos State of the unwavering dedication of officers and males of the police to finish crime and criminality within the state.
