The Police Command in Ebonyi State has arrested a girl who allegedly specialises in abducting and promoting kids.
The police mentioned they rescued no fewer than six of the kids from the suspect.
The girl, Ngozi Blessing Abia, often known as Mercy Francis, allegedly carried out her nefarious actions in Lagos, Ebonyi, Anambra and Edo states.
Investigations into her actions started in January 2024 when one Nkwuda Francis reported that the girl, who posed as a member of the Nationwide Youth Service Corps, had kidnapped his two younger kids.
Joshua Ukandu, a deputy suprintendent of police and spokesperson for the police command, mentioned in a press release on Tuesday in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, that the kids have been later present in Anambra State, the place she bought them.
“He complained that his kids have been kidnapped from his home at Nwezenyi Igbeagu, Izzi native authorities space of Ebonyi after the suspect rented a room within the compound.
“The kids, aged 3 and seven, have been later discovered to have been taken by Ngozi Blessing-Abia, which was revealed to be the suspect’s true id.

“The proprietor of the orphanage has been detained and is offering useful data to the police,” the command spokesperson mentioned.
