A Level-of-Sale operator on Friday thwarted an try by a buyer, Linda Ihebinike, to make transaction with pretend naira notes to the tune of N90,000 in Lagos State.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this on his X deal with on Sunday.
Based on Hundeyin, the PoS operator raised the alarm after Ihebinike tried to make use of pretend N1,000 notes to make a purchase order totaling N90,000.
Hundeyin wrote, “A vigilant POS operator raised the alarm after a buyer, Linda Ihebinike, tried finishing up a transaction with pretend N1,000 notes to the tune of N90,000. Investigation is ongoing.”
The PUNCH reported earlier in March that the Yaba Justice of the Peace Courtroom in Lagos arraigned one James Akomolafe and Olaoluwa Ogbere for allegedly stealing from a number of PoS operators underneath pretence.
