President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday forwarded an inventory of names to the Senate for the screening and affirmation of 5 people nominated as administrators of the Central Financial institution of Nigeria (CBN) board.
Tinubu’s formal request was conveyed in a letter addressed to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, which was learn throughout the plenary session on Tuesday.
The letter reads,
- “In compliance with the provisions of Part 6, subsection 1b and part 10 subsection 1 and a pair of of the Central Financial institution of Nigeria Institution Act, 2007.
- “I’m happy to current for affirmation by the Senate, the appointment of the under-listed 5 individuals as Administrators of the Board of Central Financial institution of Nigeria (CBN). Robert Agbide, Ado Wanga, Muritala Sagaley, Urom Eke and Olayinka Aliyu.
- “Whereas hoping that the request will obtain the expeditious consideration of the Senate, please settle for the distinguished Senate President, the peace of mind of my highest regards.”
Having learn the letter to the Home, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio subsequently referred the matter to the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance coverage, and Different Monetary Establishments for added legislative evaluation.
The committee is tasked with reporting again to plenary inside 4 weeks.
