Sabi Sand Nature Reserve (Previously Sabi Sand Wildtuin) confirmed that an incident passed off on Sunday 21 August when a leopard attacked and critically injured an worker.
The leopard, an previous male in poor situation, attacked the worker who was on the veranda at her residence. She sustained a number of accidents from the assault and was airlifted to a close-by hospital.
Administration has confirmed that the leopard has since been euthanised in accordance with all protocols for incidents of this nature, with the mandatory approval in place from the provincial authority, Mpumalanga Tourism & Parks Company (MTPA).
