The State Safety Service (SSS) has reportedly withdrawn its personnel connected to Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke.
It was gathered that the safety company withdrew the personnel on Thursday following a disagreement between the personnel and law enforcement officials within the governor’s convoy.
The SSS headquarters stated it won’t return its officers till Mr Adeleke has addressed the scenario.
Sources within the governor’s convoy advised our reporter that the disagreement began after the Aide de Camp (ADC) to the governor invited some law enforcement officials from the Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB) to exchange the SSS personnel within the governor’s convoy.
The pinnacle of SSS personnel connected to the governor was stated to have reported the snub to his state headquarters in Osogbo.
Olawale Rasheed, spokesperson to the governor, confirmed the event in an announcement on Sunday.
Mr Rasheed described the scenario as “a minor disagreement” between the police and SSS personnel connected to the governor’s convoy.
“The eye of the Osun State Authorities has been drawn to a report on the alleged withdrawal of safety personnel from Governor Ademola Adeleke,” he stated.
“We wish to make clear that it’s a minor disagreement between officers of the Division of State Service and the Police,” he added.
The governor’s spokesperson stated the matter was being dealt with by the headquarters of the 2 safety businesses.
“The matter has been reported to the headquarters of the 2 safety businesses for decision. The difficulty is being sorted out,” he claimed.
“We reassure members of the general public that there isn’t a trigger for alarm. Your Governor is totally secured and governance is continuing with out let or hindrance,” he stated.
