A feminine driver, 63, and a male passenger, 60, had been killed when their Holden ute rolled whereas travelling on the Stuart Freeway at Mount Willoughby at 11am on Friday.
The freeway was closed between Marla and Coober Pedy whereas main crash officers investigated the scene.
It has since been reopened.
