The College of Lagos on Tuesday morning confirmed the killing of a 200-level pupil of the Division of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, School of Engineering, Adekunle Agboola, who was shot outdoors the College premises on Saturday whereas making an attempt to retrieve his mate’s telephone from robbers.
In a condolence message to the bereaved signed by the UNILAG Principal Assistant Registrar, Communication Unit, Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, the establishment expressed unhappiness over the incident, stating that the police are investigating the case.

The PUNCH had reported on Tuesday that the deceased and his colleague recognized merely as Opeyemi boarded a shuttle bus from Yaba to UNILAG and whereas within the car, a person, who was hanging in the back of the bus, dispossessed Opeyemi of her iPhone 7 plus.
Aggrieved by the event, Opeyemi raised the alarm and Adekunle, in a determined try and retrieve the telephone from the robber who jumped down from the bus and fled, chased after him.
Upon observing that Adekunle was closing in on the suspect, it was learnt that one of many hoodlums suspected to be working with the fleeing suspect got here out of nowhere and shot the 23-year-old.
