Vince McMahon has resigned from WWE/UFC’s dad or mum firm.
The 78-year-old businessman has stepped down as govt chairman of TKO Group Holdings, following sexual abuse and site visitors allegations made towards him by a former member of employees.
EX-WWE worker Janel Grant has sued McMahon, the WWE, and former senior vice chairman of expertise relations John Laurinaitis, claiming she skilled “bodily and emotional abuse, sexual assault and trafficking” whereas working on the firm.
McMahon instructed PEOPLE in an announcement: “I stand by my prior assertion that Ms. Grant’s lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up situations that by no means occurred, and is a vindictive distortion of the reality. I intend to vigorously defend myself towards these baseless accusations and sit up for clearing my title.
“Nonetheless, out of respect for the WWE Universe, the extraordinary TKO enterprise and its board members and shareholders, companions, and constituents, and the entire workers and Superstars who helped make WWE into the worldwide chief it’s at the moment, I’ve determined to resign from my govt chairmanship and the TKO board of administrators, efficient instantly.”
McMahon beforehand stepped down as chairman and CEO of the WWE in June 2022 and introduced his retirement a month after.
Nonetheless, he was then “unanimously” elected govt chairman of the board in January 2023.
And, when the WWE and UFC merged in September to create TKO Group Holdings, McMahon took on the position of govt chairman, which he held till his latest resignation.
